Easter Egg Hunt At The Rose Bowl

Exuberant kids picked up 40,000 colored eggs from the green sod of the Rose Bowl on Saturday during the stadium’s first Spring Festival and Egg Bowl.

The event proved wildly popular, attracting more than 5,000 guests when only a crowd of 2,000 to 3,000 was expected.

Pasadena Recreation Supervisor Kenny James said giving local community members up-close access to the Rose Bowl was part of the reason city and stadium officials decided to hold the festival there.

Among the 40,000 Easter eggs were 100 gold eggs, which children were able to exchange for Easter baskets filled with treats.
